When nature and wildlife provide income for local people and businesses, it is more likely preserved for the future.

Who We Are

We’re a small team of guides who love Sweden’s wildlife and wild places.

What We Stand For

We want to inspire people to care about nature and protect it. It’s not just about watching animals – it’s about protecting them and their habitats.

How We Work

  • We lead small group tours to keep it personal and low-impact.

  • We observe wildlife with minimal disturbance.

  • We work with researchers and locals to support conservation and rewilding.

Why It Matters

By joining us, you’re helping to protect Sweden’s nature. You’re supporting sustainable tourism and showing that wild places matter.

We love rewilding

Rewilding is a super cool approach to conservation, a way to repair damaged ecosystems and restore landscapes to their former glory. And the best part is, it creates more diverse habitats for wildlife.

At WildSweden, we’re passionate about rewilding. We raise awareness about its importance and inspire others to support it. By joining our tours, you’re helping to spread the message and protect Sweden’s wild places for future generations.

We minimize and recycle

Minimizing our impact on nature is a priority. Some examples of how we do it:

  • Transport: We encourage our guests to choose train travel or our collective transfer services whenever possible. Our guides never fly within Sweden. Our boats are powered by electric motors, and we charge our batteries with hydro-power.

  • Reduce: We take good care of all equipment, fixing and repairing when we can.

  • Recycle: After every trip, we carefully sort and recycle plastic, paper, metal, electronics, and batteries, and take them to communal recycling stations.

Small steps like these help us care for the environment and set an example for sustainable tourism.

Our promise to support our community

We’re based in Sweden and believe in the importance of supporting local communities. That’s why we partner with local guides and accommodations, and encourage restaurants to use locally sourced ingredients like smoked wild boar, free-grazing lambs, pickled chanterelles, and sweetened lingonberries, as well as beer from local breweries. By doing this, we not only provide our guests with an authentic experience, but we also create jobs in rural areas.

We also believe in educating our local guides about the complex interactions between humans and wildlife. We know there are many conflicts that need to be addressed, and it’s important to have a deep understanding of the issues and their context in order to find new solutions. Our goal is to get a bigger picture and work towards sustainable tourism that benefits both the local communities and the natural world.

We share our success with others

We strongly believe that nature-based tourism can play a crucial role in conserving our natural world. That's why we are always delighted when others in the tourism industry use WildSweden as a model to follow. We hope to see more and more businesses adopting our approach.

To encourage more nature-based tourism, we share our expertise with others in the industry through guide training workshops, consultations and workshops. We've traveled to over 100 locations in the last 15 years and now hold around 40 workshops each year. Our development model, "Ekoturism i praktiken," even won the Swedish Rural Development Project of the Year award in 2010.
